It's Here

Well. This is it, finally here. I am on emergency bride diet currently since monday...1 banana/ 1 apple/ bran/ and broccoli and water water water! I have lost about 5 pounds of water weight in 2 days :) Keeping it up till Friday where at rehearsal dinner I will have some food (I need the energy for wedding day!)

So, with that, i am hoping to be 169. I did not reach my goal of 150, BUT I did lose about 18 pounds in this journey. I went from a 14 to a size 10/12. I hope that even after the wedding I can still keep it up and reach that goal of 150...only 20 pounds to go. I know its possible! This blog has definitely helped. I will prob change up and basically make it "Avioding the Newly Wed 20".

I am hoping that over the honeymoon I will lose weight too. We will be awfully busy, and I don't think New Zealand food is that appetizing! Fiji I will be in a bikini the whole time which definitely helps to not stuff my face, and Austrailia...well...with NYE i might have a drink-fest, but hey...thats what vacations are for after all! Plus...there will be lots of physical activity ;)

Well thanks for sticking with me! I hope that when i come home I can post some pictures of the wedding and my final look.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

1 Week

I can NOT beleive how close the wedding is!! I am too excited...just like...OMG. Anyways, here is a run down of my 1 Week water Weight Diet (thank you Alyson!) I will eat this everyday starting sat

2 bananas
1 apple
1 cup of oatmeal
broccoli
black beans
spinach
water, water, WATER!!!

yummy, right?? Whatever, it will be TOTALLY worth it when I wear my dress comfortably and feel spectacular! No worries, the day before the wedding (next friday) I will up some more food there to give myself the appropriate energy for that weekend :)

Wow, this blog has been super helpful these past months, I haven't really lost much since September, but at least i didn't gain! I hope to maybe break 170 at least with water weight by wedding day, only 2 pounds there anyways

So excited for the most wonderful day of my life, and then the most amazing honeymoon with my bestest friend in the world!!

week 3 (3 weeks left)

OH MY GOSH! 3 WEEKS TILL I AM MARRIED! WTH!?! This is so surreal to me, its something I have thought about and planned for sooooo long, and now its 3 weeks away! Due to the absolute busyness that is wedding planning and honeymoon planning, gym time has been short and few and far between. I did go last night for an hour running on the treadmill and situps, though I got a terrible cramp in my side from being so out of shape! So anyways, hoping to go back on WEdnesday.
So anyways, because i cant go to the gym as often as I should, I have decided to adjust my eating habits. Basically it will go like this: Starbucks for breakfast/ sandwich for lunch (prob turkey & stuffing from Cosi) and then either salad or nothing for dinner. ONly 1000 calories a day. Hopefully that will help.

Also i am in a biggest loser competition with a bunch of friends. The pot is up to almost $300 for the person who can lost the highest % of body weight (second place is $50 and third $25)! Looking forward to that! If I can, since it goes on till after the honeymoon, though I anticipate losing weight from walking around a lot and prob not eating a whole bit, as well as participating and a good amount of physical activity ;) hahaha

Ok, long post, but I still am in shock on the closeness that is my wedding, its weird, scary, exciting all at the same time!

stagnation...

Ugh, i am sooo stuck at 174. Though, if I am truely honest, I haven't really been trying. I have been goign to parties almost every weekend where there is cupcakes! This past weekend I had a surprise bridal shower and I was so nervous that I just kept stuffing my face! Though, I guess the good thing is I haven't GAINED anything...what I really need to do is re-commit to the gym and bump up that metabolism....if I could just do it enough to get those pesky 5 pounds off...which I know I can do, I have done it before...that would be splendiferous! But I can't do it without the gym. So I will be going at least 3 times before Sunday. As well as 1200 cals a day :)

Rise before the fall?

So this morning i was 174! UGH, i had only 1000 calories! is this the "starvation mode" i hear so much about? I am going to say yes...i will do 1200 today, lower on the carbs, see how it goes tomorrow a.m.

SO CLOSE

172.8 this morning! Got the gym last night FINALLY...I did 30 minutes on this total body thing where you move your arms and legs...i watched 1/2 of the City and 1/2 of the Hills...nothing gets you motivated like seeing other skinny pretty girls wearing cool clothes and wanthing to be skinny like them!

Anyways, again...1200 calories today...no gym though :( maybe I will knock it down to 1000.

So my deadline for 5 pounds (to be at 168) will be Nov. 1. Nov. 7th is my second dress fitting. I hope that it will fit a little better once i get these pesky 5 pounds off. I really only have until Nov 25 (day before Thanksgiving) to be at the weight I will be at for my wedding day as that is my last dress fitting and i dont want alterations to cost anymore than they already are. But anyways, yes, 168 by Nov 1st. Not only is 168 great beacuse its in the 160s (which I haven't seen since 2003!) but it is also the weight where I will be at a healthy BMI! Losing this weight has felt so good, i defintiely feel more confident, and I love wearing clothes more. Going to the gym last night reminded me how much I actually like going to the gym! I haven't been eating much due to stress/time/and money, but i don't really seem to notice and than helps lose this weight too.
on a side note, i am now so excited for the wedding that when i think about it my heart flutters, the same feeling I used to get when I would pass Andrew is the hallways in high school when i had the biggest hugest crush on him. I can't believe that its been almost 10 YEARS. not only that, we really are planing the wedding and honeymoon of our dreams. Its really all I can think about these days. I want to be the most beautiful bride ever come Dec 12th...and this blog has really helped with my motivation, thanks to everyone who reads if you comment or not. knowing that friends are following my progress really is a motivator!

ok, so, here's to 168! HERE WE GO!

doing good

I am doing good so far. only had 1000 calories already today (its 5pm). going ot the gym tonight and then having a salad for dinner. I am hoping to be 169 after the weekend....i have 2 parties this weekend, but I think i will be able to control myself for both :P

9 Weeks

Countdown...weeks in the single digits now. I am starting to sweat a little on my brow, but its not from working out! But that all changes this week. Gym 3x a week, and 1200 cals a day. Life have just been crazy lately! There is a lot to do for my work and for the wedding and I am just starting to feel a little stressed. But nothing de-stresses better than eating right and working out. I have 4 weeks till my next dress fitting...i hope to lose 8 pounds by then. that would put me in the 160s...I wouldn't mind being 165 at the wedding, but I think in 9 weeks I could be 160. That would just require focus. commitment. and will power. All of those I can do in the name of a knock out white dress and a skimpy bikini in Fiji. Yes? Just for like my Steelers...HERE WE GO!

Dang Flabbit

I am SO good during the week, and then ruin everything I did for that week with the weekend. Darn football season! So Basically I have lost NOTHING, but I haven't gained either, so...bright side. And honestly...i haven't been the gym in a WEEK (or more). So today i am getting on that treadmill once more, hopefully will stick to my at LEAST 3 days a week self promise. Sorry this blog has been just plain boring, i have had no real weight loss progress since the begining of August...those first 10 pounds were the easiest...now its slow goings. Well, I promise you all an eventful update by next monday or shiver me timbers I'll walk the plank!

Happiness!

You thought I meant about weight didn't you? Well let me tell you something. I had a bachelorette weeekend at the beach and blew my diet away!!! Like, whoa!! But, it was sooo totally worth it! I had the best weekend! and i have the greatest friends! :D So anyways, today I feel energized, and totally jazzed to look like the hot bride I know i can be! I havent eaten a lot today, going to get some salad for dinner, (J&P was closed for the past 2 months!! AHHH it was AWFUL!!) and plan on running 3 tmies this week....

Just for some stats, i started this thing at a size 14. Now I am a 10/12. I started at 185 and now am 173. I could only run for 10 minutes, now I can run for 30. Its small steps, but seeing progress. I need to hard-core diet/exercise for the next 2 weeks to jump start me into those 160s...hopefully no more surprise alcohol/junk food weekend excursions! well, I will def take then if they come along though! hahaha

ps- this has nothing to do with weight, but Andrew and I just got a wedding gift from his parents of the Resotriation Hardware Maxwell leather couch!! The most comfortable couch ever in the history of TIME!! I am SOOOO excited to sit in my new couch with my future husband!!! YAY!!!

Biggest Loser

So last night i watched my first ever episode of Biggest Loser. That show is SO intense, and I am not really sure if a believe even a 400+ pound man can even lose 30 POUNDS in 1 WEEK. That is crazy, and how can that be healthy?? But anyways, its TV, i get it, but whether its true or not, it really shows that you can be really successful with as much effort into the dieting that you put into it. With focus and determination ANYTHING is possible, absolutely anything.
Also, i am taking a mental image of Jillian with me to the gym, so when i hit that 30 minute mark after running and feeling tired and want to stop, I will see her yelling at me calling me weak, and I am going to do it! If i could be 155 for my wedding, I think that would be the most perfect thing eevveerrr....and weighed in at 173.2 this morning...the 160s are so close i can taste it! If i can be good this next week, perhaps next wed i will be there!

90 days

90 days. Pressure is REALLY on...I am still at 175 which is why my posts have been so few....but i have to be honest...i have been going to the gym sparatically, and prob eating maintenance calories of about 2000 a day. Well that is stoping TODAY...as 90 days is not a lot of time. 3 months and hoping to lose 15 pounds.

going to the gym today to rock the cardio...30 min runing, 10 min walking about, and situps/push ups.

Hoping to enthrall everyone with an awesome update in weight next monday!

I'm Back!

It's been a week since I have posted! And in that time I absolutely did not diet or exercise. I ate whatever i wanted and i did not go to the gym. Why? I will tell you why. last week, everyday, i was feeling extreamly exhausted. Iwasn't getting a lot of sleep from waking up so early and working out so hard. I also wasn't eating the best. i was keeping my calories to a minimum...but i think my body just said "hey! can I have a vacation! its been 7 weeks!". So i did. i gave myself a vacation. i slept in in the mornings, and i ate whatever my body wanted me to eat. I didn't go crazy, but i definitely relaxed over the week.

Now, i feel great! i brought my gym clothes and plan to hit the treadmill once more after work. I want to have another 6 weeks of focus. It was great to have a little hiatus there, but i am repidly approaching the 3month mark to the wedding, so i am quickly running out of time! I am so close to the 160s, and now is NOT the time to give up.

So 6 weeks from it will be mid October...U am quite excited! So here I go, pushing it to the finish line...hoping to be in the 150s for the wedding. 15 more pounds!

motivation acceleration

It's been a while since i posted. I am sensing that with the end of summer and begining of fall I am hitting a "i have been doing this for almost 2 months and i am tired" wall. I hope I can get through it. Luckily I haven't gained any weight, but I havent lost any either. Stats as this morning:
SW:185
CW:174
Weight Lost: 11

Soooo, I really want to focus this week and really watch what I eat so that I can get rid of those pesky 5 pounds and finally make it into the 160s. I wont be able to runa t the gym this week really at all because of being so busy...but I hope to make up for it in eating right. I am not eating carbs this week, hopefully to get that fat burning going on.

In other news: I have offically gone down a size :) I started at a solid 14...which i never thought was too bad...but now that I have been losing weight I am like "WHAT!?!" i am sooo happy to be out of those clothes and back into my 12's, fitting well into all of my college clothes, short skirts and such :) I love now finally being able to have legs that I feel like I dont have to hide!

Also, I ran a mile 1/2 straight on the treadmill. My endurance is really increasing! I just hope my hiatus from running this week wont take too much of a toll on my progress :)

OK, I hope everyone else is doing OK with their diet/exercise goals. There is no time like the present!

I take it back...

Ok...weekend water weight off, new stats:
SW: 185
CW: 174.2
WWL: .8 lbs
TWL: 10.8 lbs

:)

GHUAHAGA#P%&*_@#($#{($

UGH! So frustrated!!!!! I think I am plateau-ville right now. Currently at 177. I have not missed the gym, I actually did extra work outs this weekend.

ok...maybe i wasn't the greatest when it came to sticking with my 1200 calorie limit. I had dinner 4/5 nights during the week, and sat night had 3 Miller Lites late at night...beer = BAD. So i HAVE to be honest with myself. I can work out all I want, but if I am not including healthy eating in small portions, the weight will stagnate!

OK...so my end goal was to be 170-169 by the end of August. I have exactly 2 weeks to do that. I think i have about 3-4 pounds of water weight on me, which means I have to lose 5 legit in 2 weeks. I can do it, but I really have to stick to my plan and be good!

ugh, i dont want to, but here are the stats.

SW: 185
CW: 177
Toal WL: 8 pounds
WWL: 0

EWWWwwWWWww

So today I had off work, but picked up a shift at the gym life guarding ( i do that part time for the extra dough) and I swam before my shift.  Well I was working from 12-330, and I started swimming at 1115...I dont like to eat before I work out, so  I picked up a power protein bar on my way in to eat in between.
ANYWAYS after i swam and before my shift i ate the bar.  About half way through it I started to think about what I was eating.  It has a gooey texture with a vanilla flavor...then all of a sudden it hit me "this doesnt taste like any natural kind of food what-so-ever".

Then I started to read the wrapper.  It was filled with words that I wouldnt even begin to know what they mean!  At this point i was chewing and became throughly disgusted.

I decided then and there that I am not going to eat foods with ingredients that I dont know the name of, or cant pronounce.  What chemical was I putting into my body?  I had no idea!  Ugh it was soooo gross...the texture, the taste of that bar was sooo unnatural!  It didn't taste bad...it just tasted totally fake!  I thought "how is this helping my body?".  God put fruits and vegetables and meat on this earth that are delicious and healthy for our bodies, and what was I doing?  After thinking about it for a while, these foods have an amazing taste to them, but we have been so numbed to it because we eat all this fake chemicals on ice cream and Doritos (addictive!) and whatever else.  These flavors are made to be so intense, we forget just how delicious a natural plum can be over anything in a bag.

Anyways, next time you eat something that is coming out of a box, a bag, or a wrapper, read the ingredients...it might help you to think twice before eating that...whatever it is!

re-energized!

Sooooo I rested yesterday, and this morning (yay 7 hours sleep!) so skipping 2 workouts helped me feel all the more energized!

And I found out this morning why i wasnt losing any weight, not wanting to work out, was tired, and scarfed down a chocolate and peanut butter cupcake yesterday without breathing. At least its not me! well its me, but not having to do with poor choices or lack of exercise :)

So this weekend I am going to kill it. I plan on swimming tomorrow, run sat, and weights sun...all the while sticking to my 1200 cal limit. i am excited for Mondays weigh in!

KILL IT!!!

worn

So i feel pretty tired today. Not sure if its my 5 hours sleep I am averaging, my surpressed political anger making me an emotional time bomb, or just that I have been working out A LOT. I am on week two of my August gym rally and already feel exausted. I feel like I just want to take the day off. Not eat whatever i want, but take a break from running at the gym. I think today, even though its my cardio day, will do some other kind of cardio other than run...like the row machine or bike...i just feel like I need to shake it up a bit. I do feel pretty tired, but i will regret not going and skipping entirely, especially since I just are ate a biscuit with my lunch...it was good though :) no carbs tonight!

How do people do this 5 days a week for months and months? On cardio days i reaeaalllyyy work out hard. I mean, you know you see people at the gym that barely break a sweat or are doing something while reading...i mean, if you can READ while working out...you are NOT working out! me on other hand am a sweaty mess after 30 min on the treadmill...i actually have to push it to do 40 mintues. Just thinking about it makes me want to take a nap. Like Mark Twian said (paraphrased) "whenever I get the urge to run, i lay down on the couch till it goes away" hahaha, nice :)

anyways, just tired and just want to see 170 as soon as possible, which means working through the tired....

Weekends...suck!

Ohhhh weekends! Ok, so i usually can keep it together on weekends, eat correct portions and keep active (well I have for the last 5 weeks or so) but THIS weekend, like I said, i went away for the weekend giving it that 'vacation' kind of feel. Well i am sure you all know what THAT means...it means throwing all your convictions to the wind and even though you gave yourself pep-talk after pep-talk about how you will be good, you get in the situation and are like "whatever! i am on vacatioN! I never go on vacation! Carpe Diem!"

well carpe diem my ass! literally! so, sometimes you have to learn the hard way...but if I want to lose this weight by wedding day I have to commit 100%, and no matter what the "excuse" is, I need to realize that it wont be the last opportunity that I will ever have ice cream, or alcohol, or bbq...i just need to stick to my plan, weekend or not, and do it right. I was 173 friday morning, then sunday night 178! JOKE!~Needless to say, here are the weigh in stats after week 5:

Starting Weight: 185
Current weight: 175
Week Weight lost: 0
Total Weight lost: 10 lbs

Also, here are some pics that made me go "DAMN!! I need to LOOSSSEEE WEEIIGGHTTTT" looking at them now even makes me more determined than ever...I hope to be in the 160s by the end of this month... I will try to post a new pic of 10 pounds down soon...but yea here are the WTF shots...

look at those oh-so scary arms! literally bigger than Donalds legs!

same as below...ugh, so ashamed! though Disney was a fab trip :0)

maybe its me, maybe its that all my friends weigh a buck oh five!

Another weekend!!

AHHHH so i weighed in at 174 this morning!! With the new eating habits and total dedication to the gym (yea, 530am to work outs plus after work!) and the pounds are melting off!

but...looming is the blessed weekend. And this weekend I am heading out to a cabin in WVA which will be filled with awful snack foods and worst yet...liquor. UGH! I KNOW that I want to have one night of intoxication for funsies, but I don't want to ruin everything i did this week because of one night of frivoloty! But this is prob that one time I will see some of these friends until the wedding, so i definitely want to have a good time, and trust me, you do not want to be the one sober person with the crowd I am going with, its 10x better to participate in the festivities, so i was looking at ways to be able to feel the buzz that wont ruin all my hard work.

anyways, looked up this article for some help on what to order...
http://fatlossschool.com/blog/low-calorie-alcohol-drinks/

I will be probably getting some wine for myself (high alcohol content, as well as a natural drink thats good for you, approx 150 calories for 4 oz), as well as making a max of 2 mixed drinks- manhatten and mojito. I also plan on not eatnig a lot tomorrow so that I dont have to drink as much to feel the buzz ( not that I am looking to get sloshed by any means, but I need a drink or two more than the avg person to get just a buzz)

info- did you know a Long Island iced Tea had OVER 1000 calories? Yikes!

Luckily there will be a pool so I will be swimming laps sometime over the weekend for some cardio (maybe sat afternoon?) to work those arms, and burn that mojito off!

Good luck to everyone this weekend! Think healthy and have fun!

Fun chart I am keeping to track the progress :)

New Month, New Tactics

So this month of July I am super-duper busy. I have something to do and somewhere to be pretty much every weekend. Still, this month i am totally dedicating myself to the gym, and eating right to get out of the 170s as quickly as possible...i think that the 160s are going to last me a good month 1/2 or 2!

So far (even though it has only been 2 days) I have been to the gym everyday, alternating cardio with weights...though weights feels like a waste because I feel like there is no point when all my muscles are covered with fat! i guess that is why you DO weights. Also, I am naming this month "Arm Month" because that is the bodt area I am going to work on every day! Anyways, so doing that, but I have been thinking about it and now will be changing up my eating habits to have 5 small meals a day within my 1200 calorie limit. Once at 8/12/4/8...and maybe a snack in between if i need it.

Looking forward to seeing what the results will bring!

And oh yea, weighed 176 this morning :)

Excited

Welcome August! So I have been officially been "dieting" for a month. Stats today:
Starting Weight: 185
Current Weight: 177
Week weight lost: 3 lbs
Total Weight Lost: 8 lbs

Again, Sat I started the day at 175, and sunday too, but sunday had mac and cheese...ugh! its ok though, I think again, this weight was a water flux. and after being good today i will weight 175 tomorrow thus pretty much having acheived my goal.

I am so excited for August! I think this is a very pivitol month when it comes to my weight loss plan. Month 2 is where I could potentially have lost 15 pounds, and soon be seeing the 160s :D....just the thought of that makes me want to go run 3 miles!

Some goals that I am going to commit myself to doing are going to be more aerobic in nature than than my diet. I am going to hitt he gym 5 times a week. 3 for cardio/ 2 for weights. All of august. I have certain goals on how to shape my body...I want/need to do a lot of toning with the arms (very important when it comes to a bridal gown!) and toning the thighs (very important when it comes to a honeymoon!) hahahaha :) But yes, i am really looking forward to being a work-out fiend this month! Mean while i also want to keep up my healthy eating habits- for go the mac and cheese...and occasional ice cream :) Like i keep telling myself, i will have it next month!

Ok, here I go for month 2!!

Re-evaluation

So i have been doing a lot of thinking this past week as I trudge through the upper 170s after the quick first 2 week weight loss....
I have decided to be more practical, and not base my success (necessarily) on the number on the scale. I have an idea in my head how I want my body to look, so I think its a matter of trying to shape it to look how I see myself in my head. My weight is a good guage on the progress I am making, but after the weight is lost where are you to go? Honestly, I dont think i can even start to really worry about "toning" until i lose at least 20 more pounds, and I want them to come off fast, but I have to brace myself to be realistic and think that they may only come off 5 pounds a month or so.
I WANT to be 155 for my wedding, but I should also put into my mind that if I lose the minimum weight per week I might only be 165 at the wedding. This is an ongoing process, one that I am proud to say I have stuck adamantly to for the past, almost, month. I can definitely tell a difference in how I look, but I i KNOW i can look even better...i wish it didnt have to take so long and that i didnt have to make so many sacrifices to do it, but I know it is totally worth it. The only regret I have so far is that I didnt start doing this earlier so i could be even skinnier!

High...then low

SO...this was an interesting weekend!  I am really learning what my body can handle...and what it can't.
So I did really well all week eating my 1200 cals...sat morning i ran, and stepped on the scale and ow and behold...175.2!!!!  I was ecstatic, elated, surprised and soooo excited.  I think I took that excitement a little tooo far because I proceeded to have prob 2000 calories worth of alcohol that night, plus prob 1000 calories of cheese.  awesome.  I had an awesome night though!  So sunday i knew I HAD to be be good...but I woke up with a massive headache...and the only cure for post drinking goodness is a huge big breakfast.  I am not kidding.  If you wake up with alcohol related issues, a big breakfast with eggs, toast, bacon, etc is the only way to go.  So anyways, thats what I ate.  Then later I had a cake tasting.  Also, I coulnt work out sunday because on Sat i got this massive blister on the back of my heel from running...prob a little bigger than the  size of a quarter-and it was painful!
So the gist of this is that the beginning of the weekend was great success, but then I proceeded to ruin it all ending Monday morning with these current stats:
BW: 185
CW: 180
WEek weight lost: +3
Total weight lost: 5

what bull crap.  I am hoping it just water though and will come off in the next 24 non-eating and lots of sweating hours.

*sigh*

I think I will update the stats later, because I find it hard to believe that i gained 5 pounds in a matter of 48 hours.

OK, well getting ready to head out to the gym, hopefully this wont cause too much pain to my blister...I HAVE to work out this weekend.  I still want to be 175 by the end of the week, and legit this time.

Another weekend...another challenge

SOOOOO its the weekend. I am sooooo close to my goal. A fluctuating 2/3 pounds away. I know I can make it in the next 5 days or so, but I have to be adament about being good! This weekend is food haven, but I will have to stay strong, indulge when necessary...but in moderation to stay in my calorie limits.
Saturday- a wedding in the morning, then wine drinking and cheese eating at night. All the while sitting all day. My plan is to hit the gym early in the morning to help with the anticipated additional calorie indulgance, as well as only bring 1 bottle of wine (you acnt drink what you dont have!) and some cheese. I think i might throw in some of me celebrated celery and humus. That always gets me through tough times!

Sunday- Cake tasting. I will probably be eating what is equivalent to what might be at least 2 slices of cake....i have to! but I can also aid that with exercise in the early am at the gym, and maybe an additional walk at night.

I fear not...I will beat this!

ps: losing weight pretty easily, but terrified about a plateau looming in my future...I will keep to the 3500 calorie a week deficit to hopefully curtail any plateau rearings its ugly head

sooo close to Goal 1!

Maybe I am day dreaming the impossible, but wondering if 140 would ever be possible. Well, i know its possible, but would that be something i could ever really weigh? gosh, i prob would be a size 6! I cant even remember when i was a 6, I think I have always always always been a 12....6?

just day dreaming

Cravings

Cravings suck. I know that they are usually in your brain...your body doesn't physically need specific foods...especially ice cream and macaroni and cheese...so why is it so strong??? If I had my way with life tonight I would be smacking my face into a delicious juicy Five Guys cheeseburger. This is the hardest part of dieting for sure. My week is already firming up to be food-filled with friday carnival, sat Shakespeare fest, and sunday cake tasting...I have to stay strong. If I can net a good deficit early on in the week I can splurge a little on the weekend, and I will really want to partake in food then more than now.

This really is the hardest part of dieting...and in the past this is always where I would fail. I would give in. I would be weak. Not this time though...I am stronger than that, more determined, and I am going to do this! My goal is to be 175 by the end of July...but I want to surpass it...to curb this craving I will think of my next goal since i am so close to my first. That would be to be 170 by the end of August, if not a little sooner. ahhhhh 170...right next to 169. 1.6.....6!!! Could I ACTUALLY get to my college weight of being in the 160s?? I CAN. I WILL.

Sometimes talking to myself helps..as well as eating mints...crisis averted :)

SUCCESS!

YAY!  Finally to really start seeing the results of my rigid calorie counting and workouts! This morning I surpassed my 179 goal!  Current stats:

Starting Weight: 182
Current Weight: 177
Week Weight Lost: 5 lbs
Total Weight Lost: 8 lbs

Big jump this week :)  Because of this I am not going to get my hopes up for another 5 pounds in a week weight loss...my 1 month goal was to be 175- or 10 lbs less.  That is still my ultimate goal...so next monday I hope to be 175 :)  and then I can get my ice cream!

It was a pretty hard week though because of being sick I didn't get to the gym a lot, or walk the dog at all, so I was very adamant about eating only 1200 calories.  Even with going out to dinner and indulging in whatever I wanted, I felt guilt free because I saved all those calories for that night.  I didn't meet my gym goals, but I am glad it still worked out.  This week since I am finally better I want to get to the gym 4 times this week- 3 times to run, and once to swim.  Also, to walk the dog in the mornings before work.  Also continue 1200 calories a day ( 1500 when i work out).  I cant WAIT to see that 175- i haven't seen it in 4 YEARS!  GAH!

Another weekend ahead

YAY! Finally, the weekend! A lot of challenges this weekend, but I am determined to be good for my weigh in on Monday!
Going to the movies tonight to FINALLY see Harry Potter (*heart*). Tomorrow is a long day of invitation shopping...with dinner in Georgetown at the end of the day...then Sunday and Monday are pretty relaxed. The thing I have to remember is to plan plan plan!
Also, i will be going to the gym sat to run, sunday to swim and monday to run again. i am starting to feel the pressure to work out more..but I want to up my worjout once I weigh in at 175...the lower I weigh the more muscle I am going to need to burn those calories faster!

i am determined for Week 2 to end well! maybe even surpass my 179 goal... :)

morning FAIL

So i am pretty sick with this summer cold thing that is going around. I have to cough...but when i do there is a pain in my chest that is so excrutiating. I feel fine enough to go to work, but man it hurts when i cough, i dont think i have ever had anything like this before :(

So to that, you know the old saying "Feed a cold, starve a fever"? Well I fed my cold this morning...I got a 420 calorie blueberry scone from Starbucks, and fed it good. Now i am counting calories and i still have 800 left, but, i really want to be eating 1200 calories of lean meats/grains/veggies/and fruits. All natural stuff. Yesterday I slipped in a coke and a Lindt chocolate truffle ball. I enjoyed both, and I felt like i could have it because I ran, but i also had this guilt with it. These alone are enough for me not to eat them anymore. I want to eat a treat, enkoy it, and not feel bad afterwards. So with that I will always plan and budget my treats because life is too short to "feel bad" for eating something worth enjoying. That goes along with my thing for not eating high calorie foods just whenever because i can..but because I deserved them and worked for the enjoyment of it...just like if i was buying some Tiffanys or something. If I bought it all the time it wouldn't be as special. I jsut want to keep that going.

I am also finding failure with walking the dog in the morning...but i am giving myself a pass since i wake up and can barely breathe with this cough! I did at least work out yesterday...so going good :)

finally, I am nervous about highlighting my hair cuper plaitnum blonde on saturday...but i really want that carrie Underwood color...I think its so pretty! if anyone thinks its a bad idea let me know!

sick

So the past two days I have woke up pretty sick, with my throat on fire and a deep cough in my chest. This has impacted my dog walking in the mornings..which leaves me with less calories to eat for the day. :( I want to go to the gym tomorrow to run, but not sure if running while having a cough/cold thing is a good idea...I will go but if I have to just walk and take it easy i will.

Did you know you have to burn 3500 calories to lose 1 pound? from calorie-count.about.com i have learned that my sedentary life style (car-train-work 10 hrs-train-car-sleep) burns 1900 calories in a day...that is with no exercise, just to live. I need to have a 500 calorie deficit every day of the week just to lose ONE pound a week. That gives me 1400 calorie allowance. Since I am only doing 1200 a day I burn 4900 calories a week- so i hopefully will lose at least 1.25 a pound a week- just by eating less calories. Hopefully with my sporadic exercise, this will bump me up to two pounds a week :) anyways, I never really knew that is how it worked...oh human anatonmy.

ahhhh

AHHH! I am TOTALLY craving a cupcake from Hello Cupcake down the street. Its sooooo good. I think I will make my reward when I reach 175 a hello cupcake. I know I read that you shouldn't reward yourself with food, but I am going to do it anyways...i want one so bad! but maybe if i do that then it will make me start to only eat yummy food only when i have worked for it and acheived something rather than just eating it whenever i want because i can.

Strength to resist!

Weekends

So anyone that has tried to lose weight knows that weekends are the wonderful yet evil time of the week that either make or break your diet. This being my first weekend I wanted to make it a good one so I didn't have that discouraging weight on Monday morning. Having my offical "weight in" on mondays makes me a little more vigalent during the weekends I think too :)

Sat. was definitely a challenge. I went to a Harry Potter movie marathon which I knew I would be sitting for 10 hours while there would be plates of food a few steps away. So to combat this situation I went to the gym in the early a.m. and ran for 15 min and walked for 15min, getting a good 30 min of carido in, as well as 100 sit ups. When I got to the party I brought my own snack of celery sticks (0 calories) and hummus. that is all i ate. And i ate a good deal of it. When it was time to order dinner, I did not partake in the pizza, rather, ordered chicken and a side salad. I felt so proud of myself. I did give in and had 1/2 a cookie with Andrew...anda corona...but it ended up being Ok, because Sunday morning I woke up weighing 179!

So sunday i went to the gym and swam for 40 min, then afterward i got an italian sub for lunch. total FAIL, but I hadnt eaten all day (and it was 2pm at that point)...then i got to cleaning my room, which i promise was an aerobic activity!
Later Andrew came over and wanted to get dinner. i split a salad with him (Apple Walnut salad from Greene Turtle, dont be fooled by "salad" a full salad is actually 1000 calories!) and then i had a bowl of crab soup. I am not sure how much sodium was in that dinner, but I ended up waking up this morning to 182. boo! but for my first week I have lost 3 pounds! So I cant complain too much...I just cant wait to wake up to a number <180 consistently!

So for week one:
Starting weight: 185
Current Weight: 182
Week Weight lost: 3
Total Weight lost: 3

Calroies ate: 1200/ day
Work out: thurs-run/sat-run/sun-swim

So my next goals for this week is:
-go to the gym at least 3 times this week, to run at least twice and swim once
-walk the dog 1 mile in the morningss
-goal is to be 179 by next week
-do not eat past 8pm

Out to dinner...the test

So I did really good yesterday. I went to the gym and ran for 15 min and walked for 15 min. I felt really exaushted (prob cause I am so out of shape), so afterwards i did 100 sit-ups and left...I dont want to burn out going to the gym, so easing into it.

Then later Andrew and I went out to dinner to this Lebonese tapas place...sooo good! i had been really good all day only eating 500 calories, so I had 700 calories to enjoy :) I had a glass of wine, only the tomatoes of burchetta, this tomato/shrimp thing..and then 2 spinach spinocopida triangles. Where I failed I guess was the pita with hummus..oh well, it was too good.

To help me count my calories and realize my deficit of the day, i have been using www.calorie-count.about.com. You can get calories for all kinds of foods from all different restaurants, and I just find it really helpful to track what I am eating. i think watching what I eat is going to be the hardest part of this whole thing, i love food *sigh*. But... i eat it when i am on my honeymoon, its not like I wont ever have it again!

feeling pretty pumped needless to say. When i reach 175, I am going to treat myself to something, but dont know what yet

So...

Just wanted to post here to say I just went and got a salad up in Dupont. I WANTED the Southern Chicken salad with the fried chicken, bacon, and ranch dressing...but intstead I got grilled chicken..no bacon. but with ranch...but only 2 tblsp. At this point (2pm) I have reached my calorie limit. I am not too worried though as i have to work till 745pm, which means I wont even get home till 930ish...which is too late to eat anyways. If I am hungry I will have a 0 calorie jello snack...

funfun!

6 Months!

So I have about 6 months to go before I get married. Due to this I want to document my journey to get into my dress, but with the most confidence I have ever had. As i am startnig this week here are the stats to start...I will try to update about weekly to track whats going on!

Started 6-6-09
